This day was also a good challenge. I was lost for a
bit early on when the trail split unexpectedly (not on the map) and I
ended up wasting 45 minutes and probably 1.5 miles of extra travel. This
trail is not traveled much (easy to lose the trail and go off following
someone else's wrong path) and there weren't many other indicators that
I was on the right path. It was almost all uphill (2000' elevation gain),
but fortunately, the weather was relatively cool and didn't go above 80
degrees.
