After our hike, we went drove back into Truckee for dinner. We decided to take the scenic route and drive by Donner Lake.
We had a nice dinner at Pianeta, an Italian restaurant. It was full and we were lucky to get a walk-in seating at the bar. Nice ambiance. Food was decent. Big portions. In the end, we spent as much as we did at Moody's and would take Moody's over Pianeta any day.
Michael recommended going to this place he calls Flat Rock nearby the cabin to hang out. It's a short walk from the cabin and true to the name, there were flat rocks. There was a family there when we arrived and they eventually left and we had the place to ourselves.
