We had planned to meet Gene in Tribeca at a restaurant called The Landmark. Andrea and I were detained when we didn't realize there was a West Broadway and ended up walking around on Broadway trying to find the place. We eventually met up with Gene, but by that time, the restaurant had a wait of 1 to 1.5 hours. We didn't want to wait around that long so we started walking up the street and within a block came up to Churrascaria Plataforma. They had a huge "salad" bar that included items like fish, risotto, and sushi. The trick was to not stuff ourselves before getting to all the meat. The meats included sirloin, tenderloin, bacon wrapped petite filet, lamb, duck, chicken, chicken hearts, salmon and more.

Afterwards, we went to a local jazz club that Gene frequents called The Detour. This was a perfect small, intimate, low-key venue for us and we enjoyed the performers, The Dan Stein Group.
