It had been more than ten years ago when I first visited Jonathan and Kathleen in their loft. I was just a snot-nosed 20-something year old and J-10 and I only knew each other virtually on TAN (The Audiophile Network BBS). Jonathan was very kind to let me visit him while on a business trip to NYC.

Many years later and now just a couple years ago, Jonathan and I worked together at Monster Cable. Jonathan now has his own business and he once again welcomed me on a visit. This time, though, he and I have a bit more common history.

Jonathan and Kathleen treated us to some tasty Champagne and some delicious jazz.

J-10 at the Forsell, the same rig he had when I visited him way back when. Back then, he was still using dental floss on the Forsell.

Jonathan's setup. Incredible soundstaging and tone.

Kathleen picked a fascinating restaurant called WD-50 for dinner. The chef, Wylie Dufresne, is a very adventurous chef. Since we were all foodies, we had to opt for the nine course tasting menu with wine pairings. Here's a PDF of the menu at the time we went, although the tasting menu had many items not on the list.

The chef's dad stopped by our table to ask how our meal was. He also invited us to come back to the kitchen after our meal. We were the last ones at the restaurant, but it was great to check out the kitchen and meet with Wylie and his dad.
