These two pictures above are pretty much the same shot, but at different exposure levels. The one on the left was exposed to put the background at the proper exposure level, but the bridge is consequently darkened so it's almost a silhouette. The one on the right is exposed to bring out more of the color of the bridge, but you can see the background (esp. the sky) is washed out. Which do you like better? It's always a compromise. I couldn't really decide, so I put them both up.
Below left, a shot out towards the ocean and the sun breaking through the clouds.
