June 2: Brunch, a little walking, and wine

After a slow start in the morning, we took our brunch at Moonstone Beach Bar and Grill, just a few building down the road from the White Water Inn. The weather was much nicer, sunnier, but still windy with a little chill, so we sat outside on the patio. We had a decent view of the coast and the waves coming in. I had a smoked salmon omelette (with onions, creme fraiche, and capers) and Andrea had the huevos Moonstone). Both were tasty and came with some nice lightly batter fried potato cubes.

Afterwards, we took a little stroll along the boardwalk (3 pictures below).

We then headed into town for some coffee. Cambria is split into the westside and eastside. We had been around a bit on the eastside on the previous days and evenings so we decided to check out the westside. Here are 3 random pictures below while we were there, which don't give you any feel whatsover for what that part of town is like. Sorry.

On our way back, we decided to do a little bit of wine tasting in the area. The drive on 46 was very beautiful with all of the hillsides and views back toward the ocean. We stopped off at Peachy Canyon who is known for their Zins. I thought they were decent although nothing spectacular. Andrea did enjoy their Estate Bottled Zin and their Bordeaux style wine called Para Siempre. I liked their NV Zin Port. We drove through Paso Robles just to check it out and also stopped at the Premium Outlets in Gilroy (didn't buy much). After that, we drove back to the city and were back by 7:30pm.
